NZ Ice Blacks win Gold

The New Zealand Ice Blacks went undefeated at the NZIHF World Championships Div III held in Dunedin 16-16 April 2009, winning the gold medal.

"We have been working hard and building towards this for months," said Ice Blacks head coach Jeff Bonazzo. "It was great to win the gold medal at home. There were lots of standout performances by players on our team, and considering how young we are I think the team will only get stronger.

The Ice Blacks are elevated to Division II for next years World Championships.
