Registrations Open for U12 NZIHF Youth Skill Development Camp

Registrations are now open for the upcoming U12 NZIHF Youth Skill Development Camp.

This camp is designed for and intended to reach all male and female age eligible players from the AIHA Super League born 2007 – 2012.

Our aim is to provide New Zealand’s top young players a FUN and age-appropriate on and off-ice training, which is accompanied by coaching from top-level New Zealand instructors.

The trainings in the camp will be based on Hockey USA and the Leslie Brothers use of small area skills and station work.

Players will be placed in smaller groups of 6-8 players based on their experience on and off ice. Goalie specific training sessions will be available on-ice sessions.

The camps are designed so that players will return home with the necessary tools and knowledge to further develop their skills over the course of the coming season and hockey careers.

The Auckland camp is 3 days long and costs $100.00

New Learn to Play Gear Funded Thanks To Pub Charity Limited!

Auckland Ice Hockey Association wishes to express their sincerest thanks to Pub Charity Limited whose funding grant allowed us to purchase new gear for our Learn to Play programme!

Thanks to their generosity we are able to grow our Learn to Play programme and ensure our players are kept safe wearing the required gear!

Bantam & Junior League Season Information

We are pleased to announce that Bantam & Junior League team rosters and game schedules have been finalised and can now be viewed online.

The first games take place on Monday 29th April, after the school holidays.

Games will take place as follows:

Bantam League: Monday nights at both Avondale & Botany – 6:45pm on ice

Junior League: Monday nights at both Avondale & Botany – 8:00pm on ice

 

Practices will take place as follows:

Tuesday nights – combined Bantam & Junior League practice 6:45pm – 8:15pm at Avondale

Thursday nights – combined Bantam & Junior League practice 6:45pm – 8:15pm at Botany

Players are encouraged to attend as many practice sessions as possible.

Sunday morning practices will start May 5th 2019 – we will send you more information about this closer to the time.

 

Playing Fees:

Just a friendly reminder that you must have paid your registration and first ice fee instalment before stepping on the ice for the first game.

Term 1 School Holiday Programme Details

We’re launching a brand new ice hockey school holiday programme for 2019 – with new formats for both under 12 year olds and Bantam/Junior League players.

Under 12 Years Old Holiday Programme

Dates: Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th April.
Location: Avondale

Day Format:
7:45am – 8:45am – On ice skills session
8:45am – 9:15am – Breakfast break
9:15am – 10:00am – Off ice stickhandling skills
10:15am – 11:30am – Hang out and activities at Olympic Park
11:30am – 2:00pm – Supervised public session skate

Programme ends at 2:00pm – parents must pick up kids between 2:00pm and 2:30pm

Cost:
$45.00 Per Day – Payment due on the day (no pre-payment necessary)
Players are welcome to attend the on ice session only for $15.00

Food and drink is not included, so players will have to supply this themselves.

1:00pm – 2:00pm – Gym session at Strong Factory

Programme ends at 2:00pm – parents must pick up kids by 2:00pm at Strong Factory Gym, or by 2:30pm at the rink.

Cost:
$55.00 Per Day – Payment due on the day (no pre-payment necessary)
Players are welcome to attend the on ice session only for $15.00

Food and drink is not included, so players will have to supply this themselves.
