Hornets – 2018 Bantam League Champions!

By News

Congratulations to the Hornets – 2018 Bantam League champions!

The Hornets faced off against the Sea Wolves on Monday 3rd September in the grand finale of the 2018 season.

The two teams, who had previously faced each other four times in the season would battle it out one more time in a very close game that was not decided until the 3rd period.

The Hornets scored first with a great shorthanded unassisted goal from Jonah R. at 13:30, only to be equalled by the Sea Wolves minutes later, with Katya B. scoring a shorthanded goal levelling things out at 1-1.

With no scoring or penalty action in the second period, it wasn’t until the 3rd period that Lennart W. scored, giving the Hornets at 2-1 lead with 14:34 remaining on the clock.

A strong defensive effort by the Hornets in the final period ultimately saw them crowned as the 2018 Bantam League champions.
